We are a family-run business, established in 1998, with over 25 years’ experience serving the commercial, industrial and public sectors as well as homeowners. We work from our unit on the Craghead Industrial Estate near Stanley.
Whether it’s a sandstone cottage blackened by a century of coal smoke, a lorry chassis flaking with rust, or cast iron gates buried under layers of paint, we match the abrasive and pressure to the surface. That’s the difference between restoring a surface and damaging it.

What is shot blasting?
Shot blasting fires abrasive media at high speed to strip rust, paint, mill scale and dirt from a surface. It leaves clean, keyed material that is ready for primer and paint, or simply restored to its natural finish.
What is the difference between shot blasting and sandblasting?
Both are forms of abrasive blasting. Shot blasting usually refers to harder media for heavy steel and rust removal, while sandblasting uses finer abrasives that suit stone, brick and timber. We choose the media to suit each surface.
How much does shot blasting cost in County Durham?
Every job is priced individually because size, surface, the coating being removed, access and any painting all affect the cost. Our quotes are free and without obligation, and photos with rough measurements are often enough for us to give you a price.
Do you come to us, or do we bring items to you?
Both. Our mobile units work on site anywhere in the North East, and smaller items can be brought to our Craghead unit or collected and returned by arrangement.
Will blasting damage my stone or brick?
Not when it is done properly. Softer stone and brick need a finer abrasive at lower pressure, and we will advise on the right treatment. Where there is any doubt, we try a small test area first.
Is blasting messy?
Blasting creates dust, so we sheet up and protect surrounding areas before we start and clean down when we finish. Customers regularly comment on how well the mess is contained.
